Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 - A Bit Too Budget!

Introduction

I honestly thought I had reviewed a 2022 laptop but here we are another laptop that hit the studio this is a budget gaming laptop thank god I've only reviewed one this year And here is the Lenovo IdeaPad 3. The specific model but last year's version with a better GPU is actually on sale for 50 less and I'll get to it before the Best Buy deals start right away because they have it right now for the holidays. Some amazing deals for example 2022 Asus G14 R9 with 6900 HS CPU and RX 6700s GPU is on general sale right now.

it retails for like 16.50 but right now you can pick it up for about eleven hundred and fifty dollars that's a big savings for a very good computer another great deal is the Seagate fire Cuda 530. this is an M2 mvme SSD that gets read and write speeds of up to 7 300 megabytes a second and finally the Samsung 32 inch M8 smart monitor this is a product that I've reviewed on the channel it used to retail close to a thousand dollars then it got dropped to 729 and right now you can pick it up for four hundred dollars links to all these Design great deals will be in the description down below now for some reason with a lot of budget gaming laptops they get really tacky in terms of looks

I like the fact that the IdeaPad is nice and clean it's super clean and when you pick this up even though it's made out of all plastic it still feels solid you know clean lid Lenovo logo you have the extended back which you could call this a budget version of the Legion lineup these little vent looking grills are not actually grills it's just painted onto the plastic but you do get the location of each Port the only colors on the laptop are actually the vents on the back these have been painted blue the entire product weighs about 5.51 pounds so it's not like super light but it's not one of the most heavy budget gaming

laptops you're gonna buy in terms of ports the i o is okay so you have one USB 3.2 port on the left hand side you have your headphone jack and then on the right hand side you have another USB port and then on the back you have your power connector USB type-c this is not USB 4.0 it's just 3.2 RJ45 and you have an HDMI port which only goes up to 2.0 there's not a lot of lit Flex on the top it opens up with one hand the hinge is Keyboard Display nice and solid there's a little bit of wobble when you open it up but it's nothing drastic like the HP Omen you can almost place the display 180 degrees it doesn't go all the way back but it does go back further than most clamshell laptops you have the standard traditional u-shaped keys that you'd find on most Lenovo laptops however this keyboard is a bit too mushy okay like you type on these Keys there's a bit too much Flex in the deck of the keyboard and it makes it feel a bit too cheap you do have that numerical touch pad on the right hand side so you have your numbers

available nice big Arrow keys and a fairly big touchpad it's actually pretty good for a touch pad like it's pretty smooth but the click to it is not as nice like I would have loved a bit more click to feel natural sticker placement out of control like this guy went to a rave the night before got drunk came into work and just slapped 400 stickers on the bottom left hand corner there's no RGB but you do get two levels of backlighting and just like other Lenovo products you do have the function Q ability which lets you toggle between performance mode Auto and quiet mode now the deck of the keyboard does pick up a lot of fingerprints because it is a darker color so you will be wiping it down quite frequently but there's no fingerprint scanner to log you in and there's no facial recognition the camera
it's 720p but it's just not good the webcam quality reminds me of a glimpse into the future like this is what I will look like when I'm 102 and I'm only 79 the display Is 1920 by 1080. it's matte it's 120 hertz refresh rate but it's terrible like it's fine if you're just gaming but I would not trust this to do
any sort of design work it's just not very accurate the colors just look very washed out it's a typical budget display that you'd find on budget laptops from five years ago I really wish they put a better display on this because it's such a shame if all you're doing is gaming it's passable but I wouldn't use it for anything else now this has the ability Performance to turn the dedicated GPU off and only use the igp so Optimus but the problem is it doesn't have a proper mux switch where you can just turn off the igpu and only use the dedicated GPU so it doesn't have that true mux switch capability but in terms of performance it's a very budget laptop like this has a ryzen 5 6600h with eight gigabytes of RAM a pal tree 256 gigabyte nvme SSD and an RTX 3050.

the total TDP is 85 Watts like it's 600 bucks but there's a few tweaks that could have made this a better product 256 gigabytes of 2022 is kind of getting unexcusable and even this display shouldn't have been there but performance for 3050 works fine you know like you're not going to be playing the newest titles with settings maxed out like most games that are new you're probably gonna have to drop down to medium settings just to get good frame rates but anything older is going to be just fine on this RTX 3050 again

I preferably wouldn't want you to buy this for design work and if you do please hook it up to an actual color accurate display but it's not the best laptop for video creation either it'll get you through some 4K edits but I wouldn't want to use this as my main device to crush 4K content all day long if you're buying this to develop it does pretty respectable speeds but it's just not beating out some of the faster CPUs that are currently on the market but when it comes to Fan noise it does a pretty good job like it's really hard for the fans to get loud even with performance mode on like you really have to be pushing everything on this thing for the fans to get to 55 decibels usually it hovers around the high 40s when you're gaming all the time which is really great because most other high-end gaming laptops they're usually pushing like 55 decibels and that can get really annoying

if you're not wearing headphones but of course you can throw it into Auto or quiet mode and reduce the fan noise overall in terms of heat management brilliant like it did a great job like the CPU never gets super duper hot there was no thermal throttling whatsoever and it just did a good job of pushing its limits while keeping things cool now removing the back lid requires the removal of a few more screws than usual like you have to take this portion off first then there's a couple more screws still in and there's a couple more on the hinge that you have to take off but it's not complicated just
requires a few extra steps but once you're in this is what it looks like like the cooling solution has been fantastic so I have no complaints there you do have two slots for Ram unfortunately there's only one stick in here so it's in single rank mode I would have loved two sticks for dual Channel
memory so if you buy this laptop my suggestion is to go out and buy another eight gigabyte Dem it has ddr5 you do have a Wi-Fi six card that is swappable on the left hand side you have one nvme
SSD that's pre-installed not the fastest speed for 2022 but it's still fast enough plus you have an extra slot on the right hand side over here if you want to expand the storage my only big complaint is probably the battery size like this is a 44 watt hour battery like don't get me wrong this AMD CPU does a really good job of keeping things efficient but I feel like there's extra space to put something bigger honestly Conclusion
it's built very well it's just lacking a good display and I would have loved a slightly bigger drive and a bit more RAM but it's getting really tough to recommend an RTX 3050 at this point and in a perfect world I would love everyone to get an RTX 3060 at the absolute low end but not everybody has that kind of money if you can at the very least try to get an RTX 3050 TI and the previous version of this from 2021 has an RTX 3050 TI for 50 dollars cheaper so I'll place a link to that in the description

today I'm going to show you how to make a massive amount of money with SEO so for every 10 people searching online nine of them are using Google and five trillion dollars of online transactions are happening every year and it usually typically starts with a search so it pays huge sometimes they say huge to do SEO right and in this video I'm going to break it down for you but before we get started I want to invite you to watch my free masterclass covers how I make 400 000 a month with my online business click the link in the description below sign up for that free training and let's get into the topic for today so looking back the first website was published in 1991 so after that Silicon Valley entrepreneurs started building these web directories which served as online libraries that organize content so we know Yahoo launched in 1994. this was the first directory, everyday people used to search on the internet but developers got frustrated because there was no real good Organization for these libraries so it was called on-page importance criteria were created to determine what people were actually searching for so by 2000 Google had been working on its algorithm that ranked sites based on both on-page and off-page factors so the algorithm looked at the content on the page itself as well as how many links were pointing to the root the domain name and the pages so then it would decide what was relevant based on the anchor text used in these links and this was the birth basically of modern SEO now over the last 20 years Google has updated its algorithm thousands of times to make search results accurate as possible it uses teams it uses machine learning how to do this Google needs to understand and determine what is worthy of ranking in the number one spot in this info this an algorithm is pretty much top secret but there are two main factors you have to follow if you want to rank content on Google and make money so these are known as page and on-page SEO so both of these are equally important and you should work on them equally and you need to know what to do to get started so when you start with a brand new website and a brand new domain name you have zero Authority Zero Google doesn't know you exist no one's linking to you no one cares that's because you really have no written content yet no one's linking to your website so getting backlinks are the most important the thing you can focus on because backlinks are like currency on the internet they tell Google that your site's an authority for the terms that you'retargeting now domain rating is an href metric and it's based on a scale from 0 to 100 to determine your site's Authority so this ranking is purely based on backlinks to your site so the more links you get the higher your Dr will be but you don't want just any links from any site because the quality of these links matter so for example when you start you have a Dr of zero so smaller blogs that are getting traffic will have a DRS of 30 to 50. really popular blogs can be in the 70s and 80s and then even bigger companies in the 80s and 90s like you know YouTube Twitter Tick Tock Google Shopify Forbes so you want to focus on getting links from Top tier sites in your Niche because they have the authority and when they link to your site your Authority goes up but you can't just reach out to these site owners and expect them to link to you you have nothing to offer them in return yet so this is where creating quality content comes into play and what's known as on-page SEO so I've covered a lot of videos on my channel on on-page SEO and how to rankfor keywords,
 you can check out those videos as well but you want to pick a the niche that you can quickly write at At least 10 to 12 articles about and start ranking for so the best way to structure your content is to Think Through The Eyes of the person typing in your target keyword so Google uses this Ai and machine learning to figure out which pages are best and then ranks the pages based on the authority of that content and what words are on the page so let's take the keyword to guest blogging right now I rank in the seventh position for this keyword is on Google so I get a decent amount of traffic to this article so you always want to run your target keyword in the URL after the.com directly after that and that keyword needs to be on the page in the following places so your H1 title some of the content on the first the paragraph in multiple subheadings where it makes sense and throughout the rest of your body content so you don't want to overdo it by stuffing the keyword in the article as many places as possible because Google typically notices that and can penalize you plus it provides a terrible user experience you can't read something that just stuffs keywords in there so in all my articles, you'll see that I write for a person first and use these SEO strategies second to get it to rank now once you have this 10 keyword ideas you start creating content 10 publishing as fast as you can so writing 10 articles in a Niche is a good starting point but I have a Content assembly line method that you can learn in the master class so linked below now once you have your content ready it's
time to think about backlinks again sothe best approach starting is to write guest posts so what you'll want to do is find some other sites in your Niche that are more established than yours they have a higher Dr then figure out how you can add some value to their readers by either writing for their blog doing a link trades building relationships maybe you can promote their brand on your blog you  got to find these opportunities so in 2019 I challenged myself to do guest blogging for 15 days I went through my entire guest blogging strategy I ended up with like eight guest posts in that couple of week window but you can watch my video on guest blogging to see how I got 81 guest posts in my first year so this is what it takes to rank in competitive niches you need links so getting these backlinks get Google to trust you and then shortly thereafter I saw my own domain rating and improved by like 12 points I had 268 new organic keywords ranking in the top 100 and I saw 372 increase in organic traffic just in this two-week strategy  so after you've created some content and you're getting links to your articles this is just the starting point so to grow your organic traffic you have to keep this process going creating more content getting high quality backlinks so what I like to do is Monitor my rankings with a tool like ahrefs to see where I'm ranking for certain keywords on Google so this way I can be strategic and work on specific pages to get them ranking higher so that usually means adding more content getting more backlinks to that page as you continue doing this you learn about other profitable opportunities in your A niche that you can rank for so if you see an article ranking on page three or page two maybe you look at the URL ratings of those and see okay I need to add some more links to this page maybe I'll reach out to that company or reach out to that relationship that I have and work on getting backlinks first so SEO is not overly complicated yeah you see articles about like 200 ranking factors but it's just two on page and off the page but it's very nuanced and when you do it with the right strategy and a lot of effort it can turn into a passive income-generating machine so sure you start small but eventually those 10 articles turn into 20. then 50  then 100 and then you'll get a site getting tens of thousands of visitors hundreds of thousands of visitors every single month so from here your progress

the brand new Rog Phone 7 Ultimate it's 1400 it's the fastest most extreme Android phone to ever exist by a mile does it beat the iPhone is it finally time for me and other iPhone users to jump ship to Android spoiler this is me getting into bed at 3 am last night because one of these phones batteries would not die during my battery test so starting with theUnboxingunboxing experience I can say with a high degree of confidence so far yes the phone comes packaged in what looks like an interplanetary object this magnetic strap by the way is also a dock for the phone that launches an augmented reality video game which is shockingly well fleshed out for what's basically just a party trick I mean these things are actual buttons that control your phone like a games console there's an insert which has a case inside of it cool design but just shockingly little material here considering the beastly size of the phone you've got the charging brick USBC cable a very sizable pouch don't even think about editors and that's made to carry the single most ridiculous phone accessory you've ever seen the aeroactive call at seven here's the phone which with the case this skimpy kind of looks like you've just slipped a bodybuilder into a bikini now compare that to the unboxing experience of the iPhone 14 pro Max I guess they win on minimalism but yeah at this point clearly goes to the Rog eight more tests to go let's see if the most extreme flagship phone on the flagship phone on the can be the Audio planetso then we've got audio and to be honest I've been super impressed with the speaker quality on the new iPhones no one can argue that this is not one of the best sounding phones on the market with a pretty powerful combination of its bottom firing speaker and then its vehicle speaker on the front but um this is something else entirely last year's Rog phone 6 already had the best phone speakers on the market and they say they've now given the speaker units even more room to be able to move and therefore push more air which should result in even boomier sound oh wow okay instantly you can probably hear this all the way to Apple bar wow this is insane how much better that is in the iPhone it's louder the bass is something and the position of the speakers makes it feel like the sound's being fired directly into my ears but then it just gets silly good when you use this so This Rog company has been making coolers like this for Generations now and every time they release a new one they add a key new feature to it so at this point we've got a kickstand the headphone jack physical buttons LEDs a portal that opens up on the phone to allow it to Pump Air directly over the chip itself but this time around it's also a subwoofer or in other words a third speaker designed specifically for bass so just by locking it in like this it's adding a whole other layer of warmth and richness to the track don't know what else to say second point also goes to the Rog okay fine the unboxingBatteryexperience the audio experience you could say they're still Niche features so let's test what's arguably the most core fundamental phone feature for all of us the battery so we'll get both phones side by side these are brand new versions of each phone by the way just to make sure they have 100 battery health I've equalized brightness and puts peaker volume at 50 so let's see who wins the plan is we're running straight YouTube videos for the first couple of hours okay wow the iPhone is actually a reasonable amount ahead possibly because its display can automatically reduce its refresh rate to lower than the Rog phone can when not needed to save battery I also reckon though at least some part of this is the fact that Apple's battery indicator does not tell you the truth I'm pretty sure that iPhones hang on the first few percentage points just to reassure the user that their phone's not dropping as soon as they take it out of charge so now social media we'll do Instagram and Tick Tock for another couple of hours and after that you can start to see the Rog pulling ahead but what's really going to separate the men from the boys is some proper gaming so we'll run some genshin impact some doom and just basically keep these games on until the phone's call it quits which in the iPhone's case gives us a total time of 9 hours and 30 minutes I would say that is towards the upper end of modern black but just not the best meanwhile the Rog is still going it's still about 37 for goodness sake but slowly surely if we push it hard enough it too eventually dies but it took 12 hours and 18 minutes to get there which frankly is insane and yes I stood around for 12 hours to get this result so you know subscribe if you appreciate it you won't regret itChargingI'm only half surprised by the results Imean this thing does have two separate 3000 milliamp hour batteries inside of itso six thousand milliamp hour totalwhich is a lot more than this guy it'sjust that because it's thelighter phone between the two you forgethow much is in there but then I was likewell the phones are down here anywaythey're both at zero percent right nowwe might as well also test how fast theycan charge and you see why I ended upsleeping at 3 am now so I plugged both inusing the original charging bricks andcables provided with them which givethe Rog up to 65 watts of power and theiPhonewell technically zero Watts doesn'tcome with a charger but assuming you'llpay the extra forty dollars to get thefastest possible charging this brick candeliver 27 watts of power to an iPhone14 pro the iPhone's definitely off to afaster start which might sound strangebut it's not unheard of becausethat wattage figure doesn't tell youthe full story because the number onlytells you the maximum charging power thethe phone can't reach the power that itcan keep sustaining the charge at soanyway, as soon as the Rog phone kicksinto gear, it very quickly equalizes evenslightly point what makesmore of a difference is the quality ofanimations which Apple does havenailed down the Rog does also have asecond display on the back although Iwould say it's far less useful than performanceperformance is what these Rog phones areall about so let's start with somebenchmarks opening with antutu which isa very general test that looks at allaspects of your phone and gives you onenumber to summarize its performance andfor this, the Rog is coming out over 30percent higher which is ridiculousthat's more than a generational leadbear in mind I have attached the airactive cooler amountof cooling or overclocking on the rog'sthe end can make up for that Gap but toplevel Android phones currently have abetter GPU for gaming especially helpedbuy this cooling not to mention not a bad result by any stretch ofthe imagination but it is kind of funnyin that, you've got this whole game ofphone where every single decision aboutit has been designed with games in mindyou've got
